Team Fujairah excel at Tour de Al Gharbia 2012 race
Last week, Sean James from Fujairah Men’s College and his team of
three students, consisting of Captain Ibrahim Mohamed and Lieutenants
Abdalla Abdalla and Saeed Kaseb, spent two days at the HCT Madinat Zayed
campus where they took part in the annual Cycling Tour De Al Gharbia.
The Team Fujairah members packed their cycling kits and drove over 1000km to the dunes of Liwa, in the Western Region of the UAE. Over 200 competitors, including staff and students from schools and colleges across the UAE attend the unique event each year.
Arriving early on the Wednesday, Team Fujairah set about testing and adjusting the bikes they had been allocated. A training ride around the town of Al Mirfa established tactics and the most effective way to ride; stretching their legs after the long drive.
